Dr. Afzal Hossain Khan is a respected academician, author, lyricist, and media professional, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Film, Television & Digital Media at Green University of Bangladesh. In January 2025, he was appointed as the Managing Director of GLOBAL VISTA LIMITED, a Dhaka-based consultancy dedicated to empowering youth through global education, employment, and training opportunities.
Dr. Khan holds a Ph.D. in Bangla (2012) with a thesis on “Sheikh Habibur Rahman Shahityarotno o tar obodan.” He completed his M.Phil. from the University of Dhaka and earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Bangla. Over the years, he has held key academic roles, including Chairman and Program Coordinator of his department, as well as Assistant Director of the Student Affairs Division.
A prolific writer, Dr. Khan has published over 20 literary works, including novels, historical anthologies, and poetry. His acclaimed titles include “Father of Nation”, “Nazrul Jibon Kotha”, and “Sheikh Mujibur Rahman: Drama.” He has also written and composed songs for several albums and penned the official theme song for GUB.
Beyond writing, he has directed documentaries, acted in films and television dramas, and contributed articles to national publications. He has received honors such as the Kobi Jasimuddin Gold Award (2007) and the Bijoy Mancho Award (2012), and serves as President of both the Bangladesh Cultural Forum and the Researcher Council at the University of Dhaka
